MEET YOUR HOST:
Hi, we are the Shepston Overlys. The grownups are Megan and Tim; we also have Simon, age 13, Millie, age 9, and Max, the dog. We have a home base in Columbus, Ohio and have been traveling since 2021. We love to travel, and find it's infinitely better with community and friends!Â
Tim and Megan have lived in Cincinnati and love its vibrant history and old-world city feel. The downtown area has undergone a significant renaissance in the last decade, and it's one of our favorite cities to explore. We can walk along the river and enjoy the parks, take the circulator to Findlay Market and Washington Park, and explore Eden Park which has both an art museum and a conservatory, and that's just the beginning!
LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS:
Over the Rhine and downtown Cincinnati are good areas. The West end area can be a bit rough, and the area around the University of Cincinnati is going to be full of loud partying college students. If people want to stay further out from the city center, Clifton and Northside are good family options. The host family will stay near Over the Rhine.
A lot of the area is covered by the Cincinnati street car, called the Circulator. The Circulator is always free to ride. There are also a number of public buses that are pretty easy to use with the transit app.Â
