Come join us in Guanajuato, Mexico for a fun-filled and community-centered Worldschooling Pop-up Mar 12 - 19, 2022, conveniently scheduled after to the Project World School Family Summit. 

Are you ready to connect and explore with other traveling families? Then this is for you! We've planned super casual, budget-friendly gatherings each day for families to meet each other and enjoy the outdoors.

We've cherry-picked the best low- or no-cost local activities but want you to know Guanajuato offers loads of entertaining possibilities. We'll provide you with additional resources and ideas to tailor your own itinerary while here.

Pop in for a few days or the full week. Join as many activities as you'd like. It's up to you! But we would love to have you come and simply HANG OUT with like-minded families while enjoying the outdoors and local community offerings.

Our itinerary will include activities such as the following:

*Walking tour & restaurant tour to orient yourself in the city

*Enjoy food and souvenir shopping at Mercado Hidalgo

*Explore the gardens, plazas, tunnels and alleys (like Callejon del Beso – the kissing alley)

*Ride the funicular

*Nibble at the Fondas – food stands

*Experience Tanguis street fair @ Parque Embajadoras

*Visit the iconic Museo de las Momias (the mummy museum)

*Boat ride at Presa de la Olla

*Visit the Center of Mexico at the Cristo Rey statue

*Museum options: Museo del Pueblo de Guanajuato, Alhondiga de Granaditas, Museo de Cera (wax figures), Museo Casa Diego Rivera, Ex-Hacienda San Gabriel de Barrera, and more

Day Trip Options:

*Leon, known for its leather products and cathedral Templo Expiratoria del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus with beautiful night-time lights

*San Miguel Allende for culture, arts, galleries, museums

LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS

Many of our activities will take place near the Centro (between Mercado Hidalgo and Jardin Embajadores). It is cheap and simple to navigate Guanajuato by bus and taxi, so no one neighborhood is best. One host is staying in San Javier area, 2km north of the Centro, 25-35 minute walk depending on if you're going up or downhill. The other hosts are staying closer to the Centro, one near Mercado Hidalgo and the other not far from the funicular.
