MEET YOUR HOST:
Linda is our host and her German-Georgian family lives in a small village in Georgia, 40 km north of Tbilisi. Mlashe is close to Bazaleti Lake with lovely views of the Caucasus mountains. Her son is 6 years old and they'll open a family-friendly Eco-Guesthouse this year to host worldschoolers and show them around their beautiful village.
On the property you'll find two dogs, a cat, and chickens as well as vegetable garden. They love this area because you can swim in the lake, go to the forest, go camping, it is close to hiking spots, and also it's just 1-hour from the capital. Additionally the hosts have a network of local families to engage in cultural exchange with pop-up guests.
LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS:
The hosts are renting rooms in their Eco-Guesthouse. Additionally, there are also cottages, glamping, camping , Airbnb, and other hotel options in the area. There is a campingsite and bar at Bazaleti Lake (3 km distance) with the option to rent stand-up paddleboards and pedal boats. There is also a beautiful tavern with a playground and glamping options in 1,4 km walking distance. These three areas will be central for most pop-up activities.
CAMPING RECOMMENDATIONS:
Ami Beach & more
TRANSPORT:
The local Mashrutka offers transport to the next village (2km away) several times a day. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays you can catch transport from Tbilisi to Mlashe leaving at 14:00. A taxi from the capital to Mlashe costs between 20-25€ and the host can help with organizing it if needed.Â
