RESORT WEEK Orlando-ish Florida | May 2022

Come join us for our first "Common Ground" event! We'll spend a week together at Regal Palms Resort in the Orlando area, May 16 - 23, 2022.

Here's the deal: we've selected an amazing, reasonably-priced resort where traveling families rent units at the same facility in order to enjoy the amenities together:  heated pools, lazy river, water slide, playground, hot tub, volleyball, arcade, spa, BBQ area, fitness center, business center, tiki bar, soda fountain, and special events which may or may not include a "dive-in movie" at the pool, hair braiding kiosks, spa specials, etc.

This Common Ground Meet-Up is a bit different than our typical pop-up gatherings. There are lots of potential activities BUT no set itinerary...the intention for the week is to gather, hang out, and allow the group to make impromptu plans as the week progresses. Maybe you only meet at the pool in the evening, maybe everyone decides to visit the same attraction on the same day, maybe the entire group plans 2-3 outings per day! You can be as involved or as relaxed as you like.

Our Resort Week includes a host on the ground to help coordinate the group's interests, a private communication group with the other attendees, a list of local points of interest to guide the group in deciding what they'd like to do together, one optional beach day, access to the resort's facilities, and...we're working on discounted rentals for our group.

Once tickets are purchased, you'll receive an email with information regarding discounted units as well as tips to pick the right rental for your family. As of October, there are 200+ units available across three rental platforms (AirBNB, VRBO, and the venue's own booking service). The units are 3 or 4 bedroom, 2-3.5 bathroom, two-story townhouses, that sleep 6-10 guests. Most rental rates range $80-120/night (notes: there is an additional resort fee; 12-person units are available).

Supermarket and Restaurants within 1 mile - 3 minutes 

24-hr General Merchandise Store - 8 minutes

Good to know: There is a $22.50/day resort fee which is tacked on top of the final rental payment. This is paid directly to the resort at check-in, covers all guests in your unit, and gets you the electronic wristbands to access amenities. Also, please beware that some booking platforms do not add taxes or services fees until the final booking page...verify your rental total before submitting payment.

Families are responsible for booking their own vacation rental. The Pop-Up Hub will supply info regarding any discounted units we secure via the rental platforms, but it is the family's responsibility to ensure they've booked a rental that meets their needs within the property...not at an adjacent resort.
