About The Event
Come join us in Williamsburg for a fun-filled and community-centered Worldschooling Pop-Up April 23-30, 2022.
Our pop-ups provide a super casual, budget-friendly opportunity to gather together, connect with other worldschoolers, share your insights, instill new friendships, learn about the local area, and immerse in a friendly, accepting mobile community.
We've cherry-picked the best low- or no-cost activities that highlight local nature, arts, history, food, and culture....but you'll also have plenty of time to relax, get to know each other and even stray from the itinerary to add activities that cater to the group's interests (we provide plenty of supplemental ideas to tailor your experience).
Pop in for a few days or the full week. Join as many activities as you'd like. It's up to you! We would love to have you come and simply hang out with like-minded families while we dive in and explore the local offerings.
Our itinerary will include activities such as the following:
*Explore Fort Monroe National Monument
*Ferry ride to explore Chippokes Plantation State Park
*Volunteer at Community Garden
*Experience the Pirates Invade Yorktown Farmers Market
*Hike at Freedom Park
*Stroll Colonial Williamsburg꙳ (free to stroll, pay to access buildings & programing)
*Visit historic Endview Plantation and walk the grounds
*Stroll Riverwalk Landing and visit the Watermen's Museum
*Meander through Historic Jamestowne꙳
Add-on options include: admission fee to explore the Colonial Williamsburg buildings and programming, Busch Gardens, day trip to Richmond / Norfolk / Virginia Beach, museums (Ripley's Believe It or Not, Muscarelle Museum of Art, Army Transportation Museum) and historic homes

LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS:
Where to stay: A majority of our activities will take place in the Williamsburg area, though staying in Yorktown is also convenient. Newport News and Hampton are other options, but will require more driving.
Camping and RV: There are multiple campgrounds available. However, Anvil Campground looks fun, offers rustic cabins, and has access to public buses into town for those who have a large rig they'd prefer to leave at the campground while they explore. KOA is a second option with cabins, yurts, and fun amenities as well. The host will be staying at Anvil Campground.
